Mississippi has plenty of public land available for hunting, and the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks predicts that great hunting opportunities will be available on wildlife management areas in the northern part of the state. For hunters who are eager to head afield as soon as the season opens, Adam Butler, MDWFP wild turkey program biologist says,
“The hunting can be very good on some of these WMAs during the middle and latter portions of the season when hunting pressure tends to be lower.”
Before heading out to hunt, be sure to check the regulations of the state you plan to hunt.
